TMG Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies
2022 has been a significant year for Advance Millwrights, with half the year still to come!
We are thrilled to announce that this year, our parent company Tri-Mach Group (TMG) was recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. This prestigious designation comes from overall business performance and sustained growth, contributed by each of our three business units: Tri-Mach, Advance Millwrights, and Industrial Contracting Solutions.
Canada’s Best Managed Companies represents a mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $50 million and is a testament to the growth our group of companies has experienced over the past years. 2022 Best Managed companies share commonalities that include but are not limited to, putting their people and culture at the forefront, focusing on their ESG strategies, and doubling down on accelerated digitization. We are honoured to be a part of such a strong, collaborative, and innovative team, and excited about the future opportunities this designation will bring to our company.
Speaking of growth, this year Advance Millwrights is celebrating our 30th year in operation. We are extremely proud of the team we have built and the strong relationships we have established along the way. For 30 years now, Advance Millwrights has been an industry leader in the agricultural, food, and commercial industries, providing unmatched custom solutions to customers across North America. From our conception starting as a small 1,000 sq ft. shop on 64 Howard Avenue to our most recent 40,000 sq ft. facility, we have accomplished a lot of growth over the past 3 decades.
As we look back, our commitment to innovation has been a driving factor for our success over the past 30 years and in achieving Canada’s Best Managed. We strive to provide the best possible service in all areas of operation to excel our customers in any way we can. Our team of expert tradespeople has continually pushed the limits of material handling and this award and 30 year milestone are a testament to it.
Going forward, we are excited to maintain our status as industry leaders and one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies as we continue to grow and refine our skilled practices.
Vertical Solutions on the Rise
In recent years, Canadian manufacturers have been challenged with meeting a higher product output with less operating space to do it. With the amount of employment land decreasing and market demands increasing, processors are having to find new solutions to create additional space other than land expansions or new facility purchases. A lower-cost alternative that can be integrated into your current operation is to expand your facility upward, utilizing the vacant space above.
Vertical manufacturing solutions allow companies to increase production capabilities without the hefty responsibility of taking on an entirely new property. Many production facilities can optimize their operations by installing platforms, mezzanines, or the latest trend of vertical reciprocating conveyors (VRCs). VRCs are the fastest and most efficient method for transporting material from and between multiple levels. Even in areas as small as 3 ft. by 3 ft., vertical solutions can be implanted and carry up to 500 lbs.² As the industry shifts upwards, the most traditional way of transporting material, by hand, also becomes the most inefficient. These modern technologies utilize conveyors, automation, and maximize production space.
At Advance Millwrights, we pride ourselves on creating top-tier customized solutions for your operations. Our expert design engineers can create custom vertical solutions including platforms, mezzanines, and VRCs, designed specifically for your facility and the available space. This cost-effective method of installing platforms or mezzanines can essentially act as a new floor for your facility, permitting additional lines and capabilities above. The additional level provides companies with the ability to take on more projects, take full advantage of their existing production space, and grow overall production capabilities.
As leaders in our industry, we have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to design, build, and deliver a solution that’s right for you! Are you in need of a vertical solution? Reach out to us at email@example.com to start your customized project today!

Cleaning Up our Acts with Agricultural Clean Technology Program
The Canadian Government is launching a $190 million investment focused on the research, development, and implementation of clean technologies. The Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) Program puts a major emphasis on investing in and promoting agricultural and agri-based bioproducts. Many of these technologies and products help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create numerous positive impacts, and ultimately promote sustainable and clean growth.
This funding is distributed in two streams, the Adoption Stream, and the Research and Innovation Stream. The Adoption Stream focuses on clean technology projects looking to adopt or include agri-based bioproducts or use precision agriculture. The Research and Innovation Stream centers around developing and commercializing clean technological projects that are close to being launched. Applicants can receive up to $2 million of funding per project.

Robot Palletizing Revolutionizing the Process
As the demand for automation in manufacturing rises, Advance Millwrights has been developing innovative new solutions to minimize manual labour. One of our latest Certo-Tech turnkey projects was a robotic palletizing process for packaging feed bags. This specific project was completed for a local feed mill and our valued customers, Floradale Feed Mill Ltd.
This fully automated Certo-Tech palletizing system packs and wraps the customer’s products safely, minimizing any human intervention. The system indexes the pallet and slip sheets ready for the bag and stacks bags to their chosen customized pattern. After the automated stacking, this system goes above and beyond to also wrap the skid and indexes the pallet down the line on our stagging conveyors. From there the product smoothly moves along the conveyors and into warehousing. This entire process is then completed the same way for the mini skids.
This automated robotic palletizing system enhances the entire production line. Designed to palletize anywhere from 10-24 hours a day and offers a variety of different bag sizes. This Certo-Tech system optimizes production efficiency and can do anywhere from 12-18 bags per minute!
When it comes to robotic palletizing, the Advance difference we offer is the single-source responsibility for your entire project. From engineering and fabrication to installation and maintenance, we ensure the project was completed. Entirely custom designed and built in-house by our expert team. All electrical and programming was completed by our sister company Industrial Contracting Solutions, offering you only one point of contact and one esti
mate. We are proud to offer quality service and produce outstanding work in all areas of design, manufacturing, and installation.
